I have been inspired to work with glass equally by its versatility and volatility.
Glass asks a lot of the artist. It is complex. It requires advanced technical knowledge. It does not cooperate easily. The skills applied within one project are many.
Glass challenges my patience and my frustration tolerance, my discipline, my flexibility, and my artistic vision every time.
It asks me to grow as a person, as well as an artist on an ongoing basis.
In glass work, the margin of error is small.
Timing is crucial.
The risks are many.
The work is physical.
Adrenaline runs high.
To create with glass successfully I have to join with it. In the process, I have to engage with myself, call forth facets of my character, and master them in the moment.
